Geology Revealed: In search of dinosaurs in the Moroccan Kem Kem
Professor David Martill
The Cretaceous Kem Kem beds fringing the Tafilalt of south east Morocco are famous for occurrences of the gigantic theropod dinosaur Spinosaurus. This talk reports on the search for Spinosaurus, and some of the other magnificent animals that lived in North Africa about 100 million years ago.
Dave is a Professor of Palaeobiology in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Portsmouth where he teaches vertebrate palaeontology. His main research interests are in Mesozoic vertebrate communities, exceptional preservation of fossils, and the palaeobiology of pterosaurs.
