Introduction to the Research Website

(Corfe Castle: DNHAS logo) The Society owns and runs the Dorset County Museum with the help of a grant from Dorset County Council. This is our research-oriented website, which we are always adding to and trying to improve. The Museum also has its own website which is indexed as Museum at the top and bottom of most pages; likewise, this page is indexed as Research.

The Society strongly encourages the use of its facilities to assist in research, and staff at the Museum are happy to discuss projects, and to help with access to reference works and appropriate materials and collections. Here are some of our specialisms:

The Research website is maintained by John Palmer, who tries to ensure that all facts are right, but declines responsibility for remaining errors.
