Learning and Outreach is responsible for the Museum's strategic and operational support for schools and the full range of learning providers. To this end, the team engages learners of all ages with the Museum's collection, expertise and values through a creative and inclusive programme delivered on site, regionally and online.
Dorset County Museum's Learning and Outreach programme has been designed to be challenging and reflect the joy of discovery. Our learning sessions provide contexts that can draw together several aspects of learning, focus on a specific subject or link learning through cross curricular elements. We help young people, their teachers and all our learners develop important skills for learning.
Over the past years DCM has been building strong relationships with a diverse range of groups and statutory agencies. We recognise the powerful impact of quality participatory experiences for all ages and abilities and have developed projects for Looked After Children, Adults with Learning Disabilities and students from Learning Centres. We aim for a fantastic experience first and foremost and have access to skilled practitioners with a wealth of practice who provide fun, creative learning experiences for all.
