Dorset County Museum and the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society host a lively programme of events including lectures, study days, book launches and concerts. With talks spanning the natural sciences, geology, reproduction bronze age food vesselsarchaeology, history, travel and literature there should be something to interest everyone. This season you can enjoy an evening on Smuggling in Dorset with the Yetties' Bonny Sartin, Maggie Moone (of Name that Tune) in Concert, Dr Philip Mansell on Dress and Power: from Napoleon to Ossama, and Jeremy Musson on his new book Up and Down Stairs; the history of the country house servant. Other visiting speakers include university lecturers, authors and experts. Events take place in the Museum's Victorian Hall, which seats up to 200 people.

Members of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society receive advance information on all these events. For more information about how to join the Society
